SMK office & accessibility

The office of SMK is located at Bezuidenhoutseweg 105, 2594 AC The Hague, the Netherlands.

Our office is accessible by public transport and at most 10 minutes walking distance from Central Station The Hague. If you come by car, you can park in the area (paid parking until 14:00) or in the parking garages New Babylon or Malieveld.

Filing a complaint

    At SMK we work with several teams, each with its own specialism. These teams are team Plant Products, team Animal Products, and team Non-food Products. Do you have any questions related to media, communication, and publication? Then please contact the Communication team.

    Team Plant Products

    This team develops and manages sustainability criteria for vegetable production chains, coordinates with independent experts and stakeholders, such as NGOs, industry, and governments, and implements them via quality marks and certificates. This concerns the quality mark On the way to PlanetProof (arable farming, vegetables, fruit, and floriculture products) and the Groen Label Kas (Greenhouse) certificate, and the quality labels Barometer Duurzaam Terreinbeheer and Sustainable Florist. In addition, the team carries out various projects related to sustainability criteria, such as the development of an instrument for calculating greenhouse gas emission standards in greenhouse horticulture.

    Team Animal Products

    This team develops and manages sustainability criteria for animal production chains, coordinates with stakeholders, such as users, NGOs, and independent experts, and governments, and implements them via quality labels and certificates. This concerns the quality label On the way to PlanetProof (eggs and dairy) and the certificates Maatlat Duurzame Veehouderij and Maatlat Schoon Erf. In addition, the team carries out various projects related to sustainability criteria, such as the development of a climate indicator for stalls.

    Team Non-food Products

    This team develops and manages sustainability criteria for non-food products and services, coordinates with stakeholders, such as users, NGOs, and independent experts, and authorities, and implements these criteria via the Milieukeur, Milieuthermometer Zorg, and Barometer Duurzame Evenementen. For EU Ecolabel, the non-food team advises the government and is responsible for certification. In addition, the team carries out various projects related to sustainability criteria, such as advising the government on socially responsible procurement (SRI).
