After the input from many organizations, certificate holders and the decisions of the Board Experts, the revision has been successfully completed. SMK announces the requirements that will be valid for all of Europe from January 1st, 2023.

The quality label On the way to PlanetProof continues to grow. The area of land managed by dairy farmers who meet the sustainability criteria of On the way to PlanetProof increased by 3% in 2021 compared to 2020. The number of poultry farmers increased by 24% in 2021. Earlier, SMK announced the ongoing growth for plant products with the quality label.

SMK publishes the certification scheme On the way to PlanetProof Chain of Custody version CoC.1. The Boards of Experts Animal and Plant Products finalized the criteria after evaluation of the existing criteria and a public hearing. The certification scheme is valid from January 1st 2022.

This week, the certificate of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN) was awarded to SMK for the quality label On the way to PlanetProof. With this, GEN recognizes the label as a reliable type 1 ecolabel. SMK, the administrator and developer of the label, can now work together with other ecolabels worldwide to make a greater impact on sustainability.
